SAGE Elections Start Friday -- Join by Monday and Vote!

Two things, for those who read their SAGE news here instead of on the sage-members mailing list, the stolen-and-mangled SAGEweb, or the little-used SAGEwire. First, the elections for the new 9-member Board of Directors of the new organization are coming! Quoting Greg Rose, chair of the Leadership Committee (though reformatted for LiveJournal by me):
The SAGE Leadership Committee has completed fielding a list of candidates for the new SAGE Board, formally known as the Board of The System Administrators Guild, Incorporated. The election is scheduled to take place electronically, beginning on June 17th, 2005, closing 17:00 PDT June 24th 2005.

Candidate statements and some other election details are available at: This is also the URL to start at when the voting begins on Friday.

The following is the official list of candidates for this election (with an attempt at thwarting address harvesting):
Andrew Hume <andrew AT this host:>
Chris Palmer <palmer AT this host:>
David Parter <dparter AT this host:>
Doug Hughes < AT this host:>
Gabriel Krabbe <gabe AT this host:>
Geoff Halprin <geoff AT this host:>
Lorette Cheswick <lepac AT this host:>
Matthew Barr <mbarr AT this host:>
Pat Wilson <paw AT this host:>
Steve Misrack <steve AT this host:>
Steve Potter <stephen_p_potter AT this host:>
Tom Perrine <tep AT this host:>
Trey Harris <trey AT this host:>
Candidates statements are already up.

This election for the SAGE Board is very important. For one thing, it is required to form the new SAGE! SAGE might not have achieved all you wanted in the past, so this is the time to set the course of the new organization. We strongly encourage you to read the candidates' statements, correspond with them on the SAGE mailing list, and generally do whatever it takes for you to be informed... and then vote!
Second, quoting Trey Harris (Interim Director):
The SAGE Interim Board has extended the date by which you must be a member in good standing in order to be eligible to vote in the upcoming election for the SAGE Board of Directors.

The new date is Monday, June 20, 2005, at 12 noon PDT.
